Fundraiser wrapup from Kurt S.
(Above: Lea P. in action. Click here for more photos of the March 31 fundraiser.)
My God, I can't believe how well last Friday's fund-raiser went! It was an amazing line-up of acts, turnout was fantastic, and everybody had a blast!!! The audience loved it, the organizers loved it, even Nietzsche's staff was thrilled with how well it worked out! On the financial side of things -- I won't go into specifics -- but rest assured that THAT worked out very well too.
For anyone who wasn't able to stay through to the end, the night wrapped up just as well as the rest of it went. Solo guitarist Lea Prentiss performed till 4am closing with some beautifully mellow introspective songs.
Of course, there were FAR too many fantastic acts to thank them all by name, so I just wanted to thank EVERYONE for the extraordinary part they played in making the Fund-raiser such a gargantuan success. I know there were some delays and I apologize to anyone who had to perform later than they were suppose to. But everyone took this in stride. Each performance was utterly unique, inspired, and empassioned. A wonderful example of the spirit of "infringement" in action.
I also want to take a minute to thank all of our organizers who put the whole thing together and kept it running. Most of all Scott Kurchak (a.k.a. "Auntie Establishment") who lined up all the bands, juggled all the insanity, and even Emceed with Ron Ehmke (a.k.a. "Ronawanda") who handled publicity. Stage Manager Lynn Lasota, Stagehands Matt LaChiusa and Hugh Davis, Merchandize Table Staffers Michele Costa, Christian Brandjes, and Dave Pape. Door staffers Kathleen Foster, Leslie Stehlin, Christian Brandjes, and Lynn Lasota. Z. Mann Zilla deserves the credit for churning out the fund-raiser's excellent poster in double-quick time. And Julian Montague has endless accolades coming for the Graphic Design work he did on the festival's logo.
And, of course, thanks to Jana Blaha for donating her momentous winnings at 50/50!!!
There were so many people who did such a great job, I'm worried I may be forgetting to mention some. If so, forgive me. There are just too many to name here (and I know I've rambled on too long already).
Thanks again to all!
infringilly yours,
Kurt.
